It’s Not Goodbye…It’s L’Hitraot

It’s been a whirlwind of 24+ hours of our last day in Tel Aviv and travel back to Pittsburgh for many of us …

… a walking tour of old Jaffa, shopping and lunch in the Shuk Hapishpishim, exciting visits from Shira and Mrs. Pasternak, learning about the establishment of the State of Israel at Independence Hall, a walk to Rabin Square, a final mapping activity in a park in Tel Aviv where we geographically recapped our travels, and the “last supper” at Maganda Restaurant, where we bid farewell to friends staying in Israel and our trip staff …

We all received notes from Ariella that quoted Winne the Pooh in saying, “We didn’t realize we were making memories, we just knew we were having fun.” Yoni then challenged us to go beyond just carrying with us our memories from the trip and to allow our experiences over the past two weeks to transform us moving forward.

Below is a look at the last day in photos. One thing is certain–for the Community Day School Class of 2017, it’s not goodbye to each other or to Israel … it’s l’hitraot!
